Professional Wrestling is a performance art which relies on collaboration and partner work to create compelling depictions of violence. Key to excellence in execution is an understanding of the art forms historical roots - from Greco-Roman wrestling to the modern style we know today.

Shoot-Wrestling, which in recent years has influenced the development of MMA, is a submission style of wrestling which comprises grappling, choking and joint manipulation. With it’s origins in freestyle wrestling, Greco-Roman, Sambo, Muay Thai and jiu jitsu - Shoot Wrestling was heavily used by the original World of Sport Performers and is still a key aspect of the Japanese Professional Wrestling training system today. 

In this session, we’ll explore drills and exercises to help  you get to grips with the basics of Shoot-Wrestling, giving you new skills and authentic moves that you can apply to your performances in the ring. So come on down and join me for a genuine grapple.
